CAF compile report on arts funding
The recent round of Annual Support for Organisations (ASOP) funding has been very difficult for community arts, with several community arts groups losing funding altogether or receiving a decrease in their funding (CAF received a cut of £5000).
This is a worrying development for the position of community arts within the Arts Council of Northern Ireland (ACNI). It is especially worrying given the recent Inquiry into Funding for the Arts carried out by the Committee for Culture, Arts and Leisure (CAL) at Stormont.
This report has been submitted to the CAL committee and CAF is seeking a meeting with the committee to discuss it further.
