Arts policy forum - get to know the assembly

The next NICVA Voluntary and Community Arts Forum event will be held on 11 March. The Forum group is open to anyone in the art interested in finding out more about arts policy.

In March will be holding a NICVA session Get to know the NI Assembly for forum members only.

This session will explain how the NI Assembly works with a particular focus on how voluntary and community organisations can use the Assembly to bring their issues to the attention of MLAs and Ministers.

It will include:
- The procedures of the Assembly, including the various types of debates and question times
- The roles of the various scrutiny bodies such as statutory committees and standing committees
- How legislation is passed
