Box Office Team Leader - Queens box office

Queens box office are looking for a person to assist in the Ulster Bank Belfast Festival at Queen's Box Office, processing postal bookings, maintaining the on-line ticketing operation, dealing with the public, selling tickets for festival events at the counter, at city centre box office sites, by telephone and at various venues.

The postholder will also act as the public face and voice of the festival, managing a variety of customer enquiries, providing an excellent and enjoyable customer service experience.

The salary for this possition is £8.64 per hour and the contract is available from 16th of August until the 30th of October 2010, working 32 hours per week.

Re-Imaging Woodstock / Willowfield - Artists tender

The community in Carlingford Street and surrounding community just off the Woodstock Road in East Belfast wish to remove Loyalist Band wall mural from the end terrace on the junction of Carlingford Street and Ardenvohr Street and develop an art feature as part of their ongoing efforts to regenerate and re-image the area.

Initial discussions with Cosy Historical & Cultural Society, Band and local community representatives have highlighted the following:

• It is envisaged that the art feature will focus on local history & culture.
• It is envisaged that detailed design of the artwork will follow a successful application, and would involve a series of design workshops with a cross section of local groups.

An artist will be selected during mid August and should be available to commence and complete the workshops by mid September and install the artwork pieces by the end of September 2010.

It is envisaged that submitted tenders over £9,500 (inclusive of VAT) will not be successful.

Roe Valley Arts & Cultural Centre - Call for Workshop Artists

Due to open in Autumn 2010, the Roe Valley Arts & Cultural Centre features exhibition galleries, community workshop rooms, 215 seater theatre, dance studio, storytelling/presentation area and outdoor town square for external events and performances.

They are currently seeking experienced workshop facilitators (visual arts/dance/music/crafts/verbal arts/creative writing/performance) to contribute to our gallery education and community outreach programmes, particularly from within the local/regional area.

Interested individuals should submit a current CV and sample documentation of community arts project work previously undertaken if applicable, clearly indicating specialised artform/cultural activity.

Volunteer opportunities - Young at Art

Young at Art is recruiting volunteers for its new production agency Young at Art Tours.
The successful volunteers will play a vital part in helping the Young at Art team research new markets, develop a comprehensive database of contacts, develop a comprehensive database of marketing/ promotional contacts for the international children’s events market.

No arts experience is necessary but an interest in database management/ promotion/ marketing would be helpful.

Desirable attributes include;

IT literate and proficient in using excel, access and word
Have strong telephone communication skills
Have strong research skills
Have strong written presentation abilities
The successful volunteers will gain valuable experience in a diverse working environment and will have the opportunity to have a significant effect on the success of a new social enterprise project.

Call for Artists - Derry City Council Good Relations

Call for Artists to develop and deliver an Arts-based Languages Project (Irish, English and Ulster-Scots) under Objective 10.9 of Derry City Council’s Good Relations Programme – ‘Use creative approaches to explore linguistic and cultural identity in order to develop mutual understanding and appreciation of Irish and Ulster-Scots’.

Brief for Applicants:
Derry City Council is currently seeking artists, artist teams, or arts organisations to work alongside the Council’s Arts and Regeneration Officer and the Irish Language Officer to develop and deliver a good relations project to explore the role of the languages of Irish, English and Ulster-Scots within the context of cultural identity.

Context:
Derry City Council has set out a range of objectives and actions in its Good Relations Action Strategy 2008/9 – 2010/11 aimed at mainstreaming good relations within the work of the Council. The aim of this project is to explore how the languages of Irish, English and Ulster- Scots influence how we perceive ourselves and others using the arts as a medium.

Process:
The successful applicant or applicant organisation will develop and deliver a project to directly engage with adults from a range of backgrounds using a range of creative approaches to explore language and how it shapes cultural identity. The artist or arts organisation will work with project participants to oversee the development of a series of artworks in response to the question posed: How do the languages of Irish, English and Ulster-Scots inform our sense of cultural identity? The completed artworks will form the basis of an exhibition and will be ultimately be used as a stimulus for education, discussion and further debate on the subject area.
Derry City Council will appoint a local artist, arts team, arts organisation or other suitably qualified individual/organisation to develop and deliver the project in co-operation with Council officers. The successful applicant will jointly develop an initiative to engage with adults from a range of backgrounds to explore linguistic identity in the Council area with specific regard to Irish, English and Ulster-Scots.

Eligibility:
The applicant’s project proposal should be designed to explore language in the context of names of people and places and the historical and contemporary context of the languages of Irish, English and Ulster-Scots in the Derry City Council area.
This project will explore the role that the languages of Irish, English and Ulster-Scots play in people’s lives and will document the historical and contemporary relationships between the languages of Irish, English and Ulster-Scots. The project should generate opportunities for creative responses to the languages of Irish, English and Ulster- Scots and the interactions between them culminating in the creation of a minimum of 12 different artworks for exhibition.

Artists/groups/organisations will only be deemed eligible for consideration on the submission of supporting material as follows:
�
Inclusion of current CV
�2 years experience of creative working, preferably in an educational or community capacity
Documentation relating to current arts practice
A written proposal which details the applicant’s interest in the project and their approach to jointly designing and delivering the initiative; the successful applicant must include details of how they will research, design, deliver and ultimately evaluate the project highlighting their ability to the joint project themes: language, arts and good relations.

Budget: £5,500
This project must be completed and all vouching documentation returned before February 2011.

Project Leaders - Blue Drum

Blue Drum wishes to establish a Panel of Project Leaders who are interested in engaging with them and who they may call upon immediately to realise, on our behalf, specific arts and cultural work with Family and Community Services Resource Centres Programme.

Blue Drum is interested in hearing from individuals and organisations with a mature background in creating arts and cultural work in community development and family well being.

Required experience:

· 5 years experience within local arts development
