CAF faciliates an ongoing programme of public seminars to explore current issues relevant to community development and the arts.

Summary of seminars available to view online:

A Shared City: (8 August 2008) Organised in partnership with the Beat Initiative and Féile an Phobail, this seminar explored a range of Belfast city centre parades including Belfast Pride, the Belfast City Carnival, the St. Patrick's Day parade, and Orangefest (12th July) and considered how they have developed over the past five years and the issues they face.

A Woman's Part: Participants and facilitators from a CAF run creative writing and drama project which explored the role of women activists during the conflict in Northern Ireland discussed their experiences of the project. The seminar includes readings from the book published at the end of the project featuring participants work.

Orangefest - Commemoration or festival? (26 June 2007) This seminar explored the future direction of Orangefest (traditional July Orange Order parade), as it deals with a change in focus from a commemorative to a festival event.

Celebrating women's voices in literature? (8 March 2007) CAF and the Creative Writers ' Network teamed up to host a special event celebrating women's voices in literature on International Womens' Day 2007.

City centre parades - shared celebration or political correctness? CAF organised a seminar exploring the changes in the management of Belfast's St. Patrick's Day parade over the past few years and the result of those changes.

Re-imaging communities: A studio discussion following the announcement of a £3.5m arts programme to tackle visible signs of sectarianism and racism in Northern Ireland. The seminar was part of the Cultures and Conflict conference by CAF in partnership with European partners Banlieues d'Europe and Les Rencontres held in Belfast in November 2006.
